Acne is a skin condition that occurs when your hair follicles become plugged with oil, dead skin cells and bacteria. It often causes whiteheads, blackheads or pimples, and usually appears on the face, forehead, chest, upper back and shoulders. It is made worse by hormonal fluctuations (puberty/menstrual cycle). Minocycline kills bacteria infecting plugged pores. Acne may return without this med.
