A nurse informed me that the hiv ab/ag test is only 90% accurate at 6 weeks and 99 to 100% accurate at 3 months. are you familiar with these statistics? i thought the 4th generation test was 99% accurate at 45 days and therefore, conclusive?

The nurse is wrong. As you thought, these tests are conclusive at 45 days (which can safely be rounded off at 6 weeks).
