Started prescribed antibiotics to treat urinary tract infection, at the end of day 2 of the medication, course lasting 5 days. my symptoms have gotten significantly worse pain-wise; no new symptoms, never missed antibiotic dose. is this normal?

Please contact your treating doc. Increasing symptoms may indicate this involves your kidneys and not just your bladder or outlet and a more aggressive approach to treatment may now be necessary. Failure to act now may end up with a hospital stay if it is not already a possibility.

There are two possibilities. 1 the pill is not effective for your UTI 2 the dose is not adequate. Usually it takes 24-48 hrs for symptoms to get better. If not better pl reconsult your doc or a Urologist and make sure to have a Urine C&s test done. Drink plenty of water. Hope you feel better
