I have a uti. i am on antibiotics. found out thursday. i have one pill left. but on saturday i started my period. i havent had a period in over a year. i have cramps and heavy bleeding. is that normal? i am 53 years old?

This can happen in menopause. The uterine lining builds up after months of.nonshedding resulting in a very delayed period. Presence of fibroids is another possibility. Your gynecologist is best to advise you about this period and what to observe after it finishes.

take your pill as prescribed. The bleeding and cramps should subside in 3-4 days. They sometimes happen right after menopause Ibupr0fen might help. If not pl see your Gyn. Hope you feel better
