Does a whole body combined pet-ct scan show the same thing as a whole body mri scan?

No, they are different tests used for different reasons. Whenever such a test is used a specific question has to be asked by the clinical team. MRI’s are not used in general for the whole body, they remain best in providing anatomic details for specific areas, such as brain and/or musculoskeletal for example.
