In 1958 at 7 yrs old i had a pneumoencephalography ventriculography with burr holes. afterwords was the air removed and replace with original csf? were there long term effects?

The procedure was indeed a difficult one but gave some of the information we take for granted with CT and MRI's today. The air is withdrawn or absorbed by the blood and tissues, Other than headaches at the time and other transient pain symptoms the system returns to normal. Any CSF removed is replaced at a rate of about a tablespoon full an hour, any excess being absorbed by the blood.

If you had suffered complications from the procedures 65 years ago, it would have been a problem at the time. There is no ongoing consequence mentioned, at this time, secondary to your 1958 issues. Is there some symptomatic concern currently that you have failed to include in your post?
