57 yr old m. dx w/paroxysmal afib 6 days after 3rd moderna vax nov 2021,no vax since. primarily dr said vax likely caused afib.had mild covid dec 2022. hesitant to get the updated vax this fall. worried about more injury to my heart? advice?

Did you actually have damage to the heart muscle, valves or pericardium as evidenced by EKG morphology abnormalities or echocardiographic abnormalities? I don't think that A Fib is actually listed as a side effect of that vaccine but cannot be ruled out. It would be a rare side effect,though. I think the benefits of their new upcoming vaccine outweighs the risks, but the final decision is yours
