You don't mention for what condition you're taking plavix. If you have a coronary artery stent in place you shouldn't discontinue plavix at all. If you're taking it for a prior stroke or a recurrent TIA, I still don't recommend going off it for a tatoo.

Getting tattoos while on a medication like Plavix is generally not recommended due to risks of excessive bleeding or bruising. Your doctor may or may not feel comfortable providing you with instructions that would allow you to get one, depending on your health history, but they will need to oversee a change in dosing that would allow you to do that while minimizing the risk of a clot.
