HIV blood can only survive outside the body for only a few minutes because the outer shell of the virus is vulnerable to heat, UV radiation, and other environmental elements. The virus can survive in dried blood for six days under the right conditions such as room temperature but is not capable of infecting someone because of its weakened condition. HIV survives in bodily fluids.
