My 10 month old has had a cough now for 6 wks. has had penercillin and now a steroid inhaler but done nothing but get worse. any ideas as he in pain?

Many causes: A prolonged cough in a child can be caused by a variety of causes. Since he is not getting better i would order a sweat test to make sure he doent have cystic fibosis. Secondly, i would be concerned about a foreign body ingestion.You dont write if he has had an xray. There may be pathology in the lung like a cyst. Then, was to worry about acid reflux and also asthma. See a pulmonologist.
