A member asked:

Got heartburn and vomit suddenly of both alcohole and snus/nicotine. sudden intoleranse, after i had burning pain in upper abdomen. before the burning pain i never had any problems. can liver, gallbladder or pancreatic disease cause this?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

This is more characteristic of irritation/inflammation of the stomach lining ( gastritis). If you weren't experiencing upper abdominal distress leading up to this episode your symptoms may be short-lived. Abstain from alcohol, nicotine, excess caffeine, spicy foods & take omeprazole or famotidine for a week. If symptoms don't resolve, consult your physician or a gastroenterologist for evaluation.
