A member asked:

My son, who is 11 years old, has a tumor in the neck for 6 years, which returns to him every year, and every time an excision of this purulent tumor is performed, and until this year the tumor has reappeared. please advise us, thanks?

Recurrent events like the one cited suggest the kid has a fistulous tract. A remnant of the developmental branchial cleft system. Unless the fistula is dissected out and removed, recurrence is likely to occur. A skilled ENT surgeon with experience with the problem would be my next consult.
