Can accutane cause anxiety afterwards? i was on accutane in 2014 for about 3-4 months. only side effects were nose bleeds on and off and dry skin. since finishing it i have had increased anxiety socially. could this be why?

Besides teratogenicity , Accutane has been associated with some psychiatric disorders including depression and anxiety . This is supposed to be due to its effect on the brain function especially in the frontal cortex, hippocampus and hypothalamus , as well as on dopamine and serotonin levels .If the above side effects persist after stopping it , the physician might advise therapy and treatment.
