What is the treatment for tibial plateau fracture that is stable? cast or brace?

I believe that fractures of the tibial plateau are best managed& followed by an orthopedic surgeon. The goal is to avoid long term knee problems which are prevented if proper treatment & physical therapy are provided. Brace vs cast is best decided depending upon the initial assessment by the orthopedic specialist.
