I had a bone density scan. dexa axial skeleton bone density 1 or 2 site the results noted "there is an internal artifact that is unable to be removed inthe lumbar spine scan.". since i have no implants or anything metal what else can cause this?

An artifact implies that there is an artificial object on a scan and is not considered to be from pathology. A repeat scan should be free of an artifact and I assume one is recommended.
