A member asked:

Ive done home hsv swabs with 24/7 lab kit, negative results both times. they said the swabs are good stored at 2-30 degrees c. could they get too hot in the mail trucks and create false results? im worried the virus if present wasnt stable in heat?

All DNA tests, including HSV PCR, are almost impervious to environmental exposures. Transport of specimens has been studied over days in trucks in tropical Africa. The results do not change. Don't worry about it.
