A corneal scar would develop if there is a deep abrasion that gets into the deeper (stromal) layers of the cornea. If that seems to be the case, you should seek out a corneal ophthalmologist specialist to minimize the scarring especially if the abrasion was in the center of the cornea where vision could be affected.
