A member asked:

Why does my ca125 fluctuate to 95 when on period to 50 during mid cycle (day 20). doing this consistently for 9 months. clear ultrasound only finding was a very small 1 cm fibroid. clear ct scan. gynae does not want to do laparoscopy ???

A doctor has provided 1 answer

An elevated "CA125" can be associated with malignancy, but should remain elevated irrespective to the time in your menstrual cycle. To determine the cause of the elevation of CA125, other testing should be done, as a "single 1 cm fibroid" will generally not cause this variation.
