The paranasal sinuses are air pockets/chambers in the facial skull that develop with age. On an x-ray their normal appearance would reflect the air pockets as darker than the white bone. The "opacified" wording just means they are lighter meaning filled with fluid & that suggests an infection in the spaces. It does not have anything to do with the brain. This condition often causes facial pain.

Simply means you have a sinus infection involving more than one area. This does NOT convey that your brain is involved with any pathological process at this point. Get the sinusitis properly treated!
