It is normal for the heartbeat to change slightly with the breathing cycle, speeding or slowing with the change of lung volume. The term sinus arrhythmia is used for this normal event. Whether this applies to what you are inquiring about is not clear from the post. A rhythm strip done with this in mind could identify any worrisome pattern.
