Had gall surgery last year. 3 months later, diarrhea for month then it stopped. since, its been on & off soft & hard stools. today had a dark tint water on the bottom of the toilet & dark mahogany spots on the solid stool. idk if its blood. no pain?

You should see a GI doctor to determine if there is blood in your stools. If it is determined to be blood, you may need a colonoscopy and/or upper endoscopy to determine where the blood is coming from. The GI doctor can also review your stool consistency to determine if you have irritable bowel syndrome or some other etiology for your soft and hard stools. Treatment can be provided, if needed.
