A member asked:

Why would er not do cardiac work up for someone complaining of weakness, fatigue and chest pain? was sent home with just blood work being done(no tropinin draws) and told everything was fine. feel worse now. lack of insurance bar me from testing?

If any screening physician reviewed your history, did an exam and decided your problem was due to simple things unrelated to the heart they would not pursue an extensive cardiac workup. Simple issues like hear-burn, originating from tissues just in back of and to the left of the heart can be evident on exam. Lack of any coverage for the cost of a workup can reduce the amount of extraneous tests.
