I constantly feel like i got something in my throat(no pain, food goes down fine) i decided to palpate my esophagus.i feel a hard lump on left side of esophagus closet to the tendon.idon't feel a lump on the right? what could this be? is this normal?

You can't feel the esophagus because it is hidden behind the upper airway. You can feel or examine the thyroid or the approximate cartilages. What you feel could be a thyroid nodule or a lymph node. Please see your doctor for this finding. Good luck.
