You can't feel the esophagus because it is hidden behind the upper airway. You can feel or examine the thyroid or the approximate cartilages. What you feel could be a thyroid nodule or a lymph node. Please see your doctor for this finding. Good luck.

Small pea sized lump on tendon i think on the left side of my neck, approx 6/7 mm . more noticeable when i turn my head to the far right. Feels slightly firm. No other symptoms at this stage. Don't know how long I've had it, noticed about 4 days ago?
Can one palpate the peroneal artery or is it below superficial muscle? Does it run on out side of the Achilles tendon? I feel something hard in area.
Lump (3mm) in tendon rear side of the neck, only palpable if raise the arm, moves easily if raise the arm and not in tension. Don't hurt. What can be?
