The real question is "Why the focal headaches"? Are these due to migraine, jaw or dental problems, sinus issues, or temporal arteritis? The medicine for epilepsy represents a co-morbidity, and likely neither helps nor hinders. See a dentist and a neurologist and get this diagnosed and treated.
