The ER is for problems that threaten life or limb in the foreseeable future. It is where people go who may need to be admitted. The regular office or an urgent care center would be the proper location for care. You would be seen in an ER by law, but triaged to the bottom of any pending cases while serious problems are seen first. Expect a long wait & likely a referral to an outside doc for Rx.
