If your blood pressure numbers are consistently that high, then yes, the medicine will give you a normal blood pressure. If your blood pressure stays elevated long-term, you risk heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, etc. The medicine keeping your blood pressure normal will prevent these side effects from happening. You are young so you have a long time for these complications to occur.

Bear in mind that Lisinopril, like all ACE inhibitors, is to be avoided during pregnancy, so be sure to stop it if you become pregnant. Consider nifedipine if you stop lisinopril. It is favored as an antihypertensive medication for pregnant women. Your blood pressure goal should be 130/80 or lower.
