Definitely worth trying specifically if pain is musculoskeletal affecting superficial structures, has to be used consistently for few days in a row.

Voltaren (or diclofenac) gel is over-the-counter and may be used for musculoskeletal pain. Another over-the-counter option is a lidocaine patch, which may help with nerve pain.
