Insulin Resistance is a difficult concept in medicine. There are no tests to confirm its existance and there are no set symptoms until it becomes advanced enough to cause prediabetes or type 2 diabetes. Based on what is observed in Prediabetic patients, Scientists theorize that Insulin Resistance is associated with obesity, cardiovascular disease, metabolic disease and Polycyctic ovarian syndrome.
