A member asked:

Can a ct of sinuses show the eyes and optic nerve. for example, tumours or growths behind the eye or pressure to the optic nerve?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Although soft-tissue imaging and resolution are far easier to see on an MRI, it is likely that a CAT scan of the brain would detect a retro-orbital mass lesion. Sinus films are focused on the sinuses and skull and may not necessarily reveal ocular pathology. Discuss your question with the radiologist who interpreted your films.
