Male growth varies with ethnic/genetic factors within "Tanner" stages. In general, continuation of a 2-3'/yr is seen rather than an acceleration or "spurt". Once the growth rate slows to 1" or less/r it signals the end of this process. A more dependable way to predict growth potential is examination of growth centers in an x-ray of the wrist/hand.
