Ive been on 500 valtrex daily for years. i was exposed to hiv thru sex. ive tested negative @4.5 mon 4th gen test, 6 mon antibody test, 9 months 4th gen test and 9.5 mon ab test. symptoms neuropathy, headache, white tongue. valtrex affecting tests?

Valacyclovir (Valtrex) has no effect on HIV test reliability. No drug or medical condition does, so you can be sure you do not have HIV. And despite what you might have read online, your symptoms do not suggest HIV at all.

On post-exp prop (PEP). on day 8 after exposure headache, sore throat. dr ordered HIV antibody/p24 test. Negative. Was this test valuable taken at day 10 after exposure if these were indeed acute HIV symptoms ?
