It can’t be normal to feel elevate pressure or cramping prior to passing flatus. One clue that might guide you is whether the cramping or pressure gets better after you release the flatus. If it makes you feel better, then it may be related to intestinal spasm or cramping. See your primary care doctor or a gastroenterologist if this persists. Good luck.
