Only if scarlet fever had progressed to rheumatic fever that can cause heart valve abnormalities, rheumatic heart disease.

Your lack of details prevents a reasoned answer. Mitral regurgitation is often related to Rheumatic heard disease as a kid but can be a little or a lot. By itself it may or may not have more than a trivial importance. The best person to answer how this effects his heart now would be the doc who knows all the past & current history along with recent testing.
