A brain MRI can exclude the presence of serious abnormalities but is unlikely to reveal a pathological source to account for your tinnitus. An otolaryngologist may be helpful to seek answers, but even with an array of audiological/ otological tests, diagnostic answers may remain elusive. Pulsatile tinnitus is rarely associated with critical illnesses.
