No. Anxiety or other psychological issues cannot cause anatomic changes to the heart.

Mitral regurgitation is caused by a weakening or failure of a heart valve. Anxiety will not cause this kind of problem. See your cardiologist for an assessment as to whether you’re mitral regurgitation is significant. Good luck.
