Numbness: Depending on the extent of the infection, the nerve can be effected resulting in the numbness, which is hopefully reversible. The abx will lower the infection allowing for better (ironically) numbing, the possible reason for delay, usually more than one day. I would be seeing an oral surgeon to not only extract but evaluate the extent of the damage and future prognosis, and prevention.

Normalcy soon: As soon as the tooth is removed, along with the antibiotic coverage, healing will be able to speed ahead, and the feeling of your lower lip should return. This may take a few days or longer depending upon the extent of the infection and the ability of your body and nerve to recover. In these cases, it's especially important for both you and your surgeon to monitor this until full recovery.
