Why do you do that in the first place? If you continuously press the reservoir you can block the draining of CSF and cause hydrocephalus. Take care.

Although modern VP shunt systems are sturdy and resistant to damage, repetitive contact pressure and manipulations could shorten the effective life and result in the need for earlier revisions. Best to leave the area alone. Discuss your concerns with the surgeon who placed the shunt.
