Maybe: I have heard my patients tell me that they hear noise in their VP shunt but this is very rare and unusual. The reservoir can have sometimes moving parts and the CSF does flow through there. However, for you to hear this, you must be extremely sensitive. Nothing is impossible. If you do not have any signs and symptoms of VPS malfunction, you should be OK.
