If these are accurate heart rates, I recommend you be checked with an EKG. If this doesn't demonstrate heart rate variability,then get hooked up to an outpatient heart monitor for 24-48 hours to be sure. If heart rates go from 80 to 40, we have to be concerned about types.of intermittent heart block or sinus node dysfunction.which would necessitate an evaluation by a cardiologist.
