A member asked:

My hr has been unusually low today. it was at 40-42 bpm at 10am, then would jump back to 82-84 at 10:07, again and again every 40 minutes to an hour. (i.e. 41 at 12:33, then back to 84 at 12:37 / 40 at 2:25 then 79 at 2:31). should i worry?

If these are accurate heart rates, I recommend you be checked with an EKG. If this doesn't demonstrate heart rate variability, then get hooked up to an outpatient heart monitor for 24-48 hours to be sure. If heart rates go from 80 to 40, we have to be concerned about types.of intermittent heart block or sinus node dysfunction.which would necessitate an evaluation by a cardiologist.
