On 40 mg prednisone for 4 days and then 20mg for 4 days after while taking 875mg of augmentin twice a day how far apart should i take them? and is it a safe combination to take them both in the morning?

It doesn't matter. They can be taken together. There are no interactions between when take only a few days.
