A kid at 2 years who snores and gasps likely has enough adenoidal tissue and tonsil mass to trigger sleep apnea. I would make a recording of the sleep pattern and take him to the pediatrician for an evaluation. This tends to get worse & peak at 4=6. Most insurers will cover tonsil removal for sleep apnea at this age. It can make a dramatic change in their life.Deal with the heart at the same time.

I agree that a recording is often helpful. Disruption to normal sleep may result in sleepiness during the day. Maintain a clean sleep environment, regular sleep schedule and a bedtime routine. If significant, please see ENT. A sleep study may be recommended. Watch for signs of daytime sleepiness and difficulty breathing.
