Paregoric is rarely used, being largely replaced by lomotil for diarrhea. Given the fact that they have both controlled substances from the opiates class in their composition a prescription will be needed from your physician.

Paregoric is not usually used anymore these days. There are many affective medication‘s for diarrhea. If this has been a chronic problem, you should probably see a gastroenterologist to go over what you have been taking it and to see if they can determine the cause of your diarrhea. If a specific cost can be found, treatment can often be given. Good luck.
