A member asked:

I had a 3 punch biopsy on my ankle and upper thigh. all 3 biopsy areas showed small fiber neuropathy. i do not have diabetes or vitamin deficiencies. would this be non length dependent small fiber neuropathy and is this most likely immune related?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

If all three sites show abnormalities, this would be best classified as a length-dependent small fiber process. Unless the microscopic studies revealed local inflammatory cells, a diagnosis of an immune process would be rather unlikely, with this profile.
