HIV blood splashed on eyes ,nose and mouth areas has about 1 out a 1.000 chances of infection. Now if there any cuts, scrapes or broken skin the risk is much higher. The amount of blood and how sick the person is contributes to the risk .Alway wash area with clean water, salt water or saline in a steady stream.

In theory this could be a small risk for HIV, but in fact there are no known cases of HIV from exposure of mouth or eyes in this fashion. Risk also may depend on whether the source is on effective HIV treatment. It would be best to be in the care of an HIV expert; if this happened less than a couple days ago, post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) with anti-HIV drugs may be recommended. Good luck.
