When gabapentin is used for pain in my leg, does it cure or mask the pain? do i need to take it forever? is it safe for longterm use? if i stop taking it, will the pain return? besides nerve pain, what other pain can it help with apart from epilepsy?

Gabapentin was originally designed to prevent seizures, but also clear are nerve-pain suppression effects. It fails to "cure" any disorder. It is relatively safe and can be used chronically, but may well become less effective due to tolerance.
