: An EMG/ NCS reveals abnormal findings due to nerve damage if testing is done at least 4 weeks subsequent to onset, and structural changes to myelin and/ or axon are present. The test will not be useful if the pain is not due to muscle or nerve dysfunction.

An EMG/ NCS reveals abnormal findings due to nerve damage if testing is done at least 4 weeks subsequent to onset, and structural changes to myelin and/ or axon are present. The test will not be useful if the pain is not due to muscle or nerve dysfunction.
