My son has been running a fever initial 103 but had mostly been 101 /99 for going in 5 days now, no other symptoms but ive noticed he has been burping a lot. he is eating and drinking fine. what could be going on? do i need to take him to the er?

Many self healing viruses provide this pattern of fever. When the fever has settled into a low 99-100 F after a few days I am less concerned about the process. Mild fever can last a week or longer in some. If the kids activities of daily living are normal I let it pass. No ER for this.
