I had a ekg today for surgery clearance what states contour abnormality consistent with anteroseptal infarction age undertermined. i also had a ekg e months ago prior to another surgery and it was fine. what would cause this?

If the difference is true then the change is quite significant. I would prefer to have another 12 lead EKG done to confirm the change. If that change in leads V1-V3 remains the same, you will need to be cleared by a cardiologist, especially other risk factors for coronary heart disease are present besides your gender and age.
