For such a short lasting symptom,I'd be thinking of a nonvascular, nondemyelinating neurological issue such as a transient nerve impingement at the cervical ( neck) level. It could have been positional but it becomes a recurring issue, I recommend a consultation with a neurologist. An MRI of your neck may be ordered depending upon the neurologist's assessment.

The most probable explanation is that you slept either on your side or face-down in a way that impinged on your brachial plexus, a complex group of nerves that passes through the armpit to innervate your arm and nearby structures. As a one time occurrence, it's probably of little concern, but if it occurs more frequently and during the day, it may warrant looking into thoracic outlet syndrome.
