In the US symptom free adults routinely test positive in studies for prior CMV infection. Blood banks segregate their donations so they are never given to premature infants who may see the germ re-activate. If you are experiencing chest pain I would NEVER assume it was from some 20 year past infection. You should have a full evaluation to find the source.
